Chalet de la Lune

Chalet de la Lune (sleeps 12-13) with hot tub in St. Martin de Belleville, Three Valleys.
Chalet de la Lune is a stunning farmhouse renovation: a chalet with bags of character, outdoor hot tub, TV and games den and fine dining chef...

  • Chalet de la Lune is a 400 year old farmhouse that has been lovingly restored into the fabulous mountain retreat that you find nestled in the centre of this traditional and unspoilt village.

We're all about relaxation on your ski holiday: the stone vaulted living and dining room is the heart of the chalet - a spectacular setting to unwind after a day in the mountains, with gorgeous handmade sofas and a roaring log fire.

Slipping into the outdoor hot tub with a glass of bubbly is a real treat, and youngsters love the TV and games den with Wii console, films and plenty of books!

The bedrooms are beautifully decorated with exposed beams, deep windowsills, beautiful fabrics and under-floor heating. All have en-suite bath or shower rooms, complete with creature comforts including bathrobes, slippers and 100% natural bathroom goodies from Cowshed.

The chalet lies tucked away in the twisty streets of the oldest areas of St Martin de Belleville. Only 100m from the baroque church which marks the centre of this gorgeous and traditional alpine village, the chalet is within easy reach of the chic village shops, bars and restaurants.

St Martin is fully connected into the immense Three Valleys ski area, offering over 600 km pistes and over 180 lifts. It's snow-sure thanks to the heavenly altitude of Val Thorens with its glaciers, and offers skiers and boarders of all levels an incredible selection of runs to discover.

Wake up to a mug of fresh coffee or tea in bed before meandering to breakfast to set you up for a day on the mountain.

You'll be welcomed back to the chalet with a fabulous afternoon tea of fresh bread and jam and homemade cake. Then unwind in front of the fire with a glass as the chef rustles up delectable canapes or dig yourself out of the den before enjoying a sumptuous 4-course dinner, followed by a selection of local cheeses and chutneys. Afterwards snuggle back to the fire for a digestif and a game of cards, curl up in the den with a film or discover the atmospheric bars of St Martin.

Your chef will be in touch before you arrive in St Martin to go through any particular likes, dislikes and dietary requirements so that we are prepared for when you arrive.

  • Chalet de la Lune nestles in the heart of the old quarter of St Martin. Wind your way through less than 80m of twisty narrow streets and you are right in the middle of this truly traditional alpine village complete with the beautiful baroque church and hustle of village life continuing around you!

    Local Area

St Martin de Belleville really is the jewel in the crown of the Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallees), reputably the largest ski area in the world. Centred around the baroque church this authentic and charming village nestles in the Vallee des Belleville at 1450m.

A world away from the neighbouring resorts of Les Menuires and Val Thorens in character, St Martin de Belleville retains all of its Savoyard allure and atmosphere whilst being fully linked into the Three Valleys lift system by a speedy gondola and chairlift. Nowhere else can you wallow in a traditional alpine village and still be within such easy reach of the huge expanse of skiing that the Three Valleys has to offer.

If more active apres-ski is your thing, the valleys offer a huge variety - from husky sledging, paragliding and ice driving to horse and carriage rides and snowmobiling.

    SKIING
The Three Valleys is a incredible and vast ski area - you will never tire of its 600km of piste served by 180 ski lifts. St Martin de Belleville is fully connected into the system with a gondola followed by a speedy quad chairlift that whisks you up to 2435m, the Tougnete summit from where the Three Valleys opens up on all sides. Head straight into the Meribel Valley and on to glitzy Courchevel or meander towards Les Menuires and up into Val Thorens or over to the quiet peak of La Masse.

Beginners are well catered for in the dedicated debutants area with a new magic carpet just up from the village and then progress up the lifts to the gentle St Martin home runs.

Often praised as an intermediate skier's paradise, the Three Valleys offer a huge variety of blue and red runs, and St Martin harbours a few of the very best. The undulating Jerusalem is a clear favourite whilst the surrounding selection of sun-drenched blue pistes have breath-taking views and are less crowded than those nearer the larger resorts. Advanced skiers will never be disappointed, with plenty of steep challenges and grin-inducing off-piste.

We can arrange ski school or private lessons with highly qualified professionals or recommend a local guide to ensure that you get the most out of your skiing, whatever your experience.
