Les Noisettes is a traditional Haute Savoie chalet. Situated on a sunny plateau a few minutes above the village of Le Grand Bornand, it has stunning views of the surrounding mountains in all directions and is very well situated for both winter skiing and summer mountain activity holidays.
The chalet is a very attractive and comfortable base from which to discover this fascinating area of France. It has 100m2 of accommodation including 4 double bedrooms, a large open-plan living room with comfortable sitting area, dining area and kitchen. It has a bathroom with bath/shower & basin, a shower room with shower basin & WC and a separate WC. There is a garage, incorporating a laundry area and ample storage space for ski equipment and bikes. There is a balcony, and a (non-enclosed) garden.
It is well equipped (as we holiday there too!) with:
WiFi Internet access * Dishwasher * Electric Oven & Hob * Microwave Oven * Refrigerator * Iron & Ironing Board
*Raclette, Fondue & Pierrade Equipment * Electric coffee machine & cafetières * T.V.* DVD Player * Bluetooth speakers * Games, children's videos, Table Tennis * Washing Machine * Tumble Dryer * Hair Dryer * Mountain Bikes (VTT)
The chalet is situated just off the main route between Le Grand Bornand and Chinaillon and is easily accessible in both summer and winter. You can see the ski slopes from the living room window and get to them in 10 minutes by car or ski bus (2 kms). There are numerous shops and restaurants in the bustling village of Le Grand Bornand and the connected ski satellite of Chinaillon. Both are 5 minutes by car or bus and in the summer it is a nice, off road, walk from the chalet to the village.
Le Grand Bornand is an easy 1 hour drive from Geneva and is a truly all year round resort, bursting with Haute Savoie character and with a huge range of activities to suit everyone. The village holds a traditional market every Wednesday morning and, being in the heart of the Reblochon cheese region, local farms offer cheese-making demonstrations. The tourist office is extremely proactive and organises all kinds of events during the year, from a ballooning festival, to husky dog racing, mountain biking events and even a special children's week in August.
In winter the village has 90km of family friendly downhill skiing and around 60km of stunning cross-country trails. A further 132 km of downhill skiing is available in neighbouring La Clusaz, 10 minutes away by car or regular ski bus.
In summer the range of activities is extensive. There are beautiful walks, to suit all ages and abilities and a good network of cycle routes for both mountain and road cyclists. Some ski lifts operate throughout the summer to transport walkers, cyclists and their bikes to the higher trails and, every few years, the Tour de France passes through the village - and right past the balcony of Les Noisettes! There is also tennis, golf, paragliding, climbing (including Via Ferrata), trampolining and horse riding. The village has a lovely open-air swimming pool with slides and a children's play area.
