Alternatively, beneath the Aiguille Rouge are plenty of ski- in, ski-out chalets in Arc 2000 that are perfect for the slopes and in nearby Arc 1950, ski chalets in a modern, but charming village can be found. If, however, one of these resort units is not what you fancy, then there are plenty of catered ski chalets in Peisey-Vallandry and ski chalet apartments in Villaroger and Les Granges too, both quieter locations. And finally, for good choice of amenities in a setting that's still close to the slopes, a ski hotel in Bourg-St Maurice, a valley town nearby, makes a perfect choice. Ski accommodation in La Plagne also ranges from the rustic to modern in its ten separate 'villages'. Ski chalets in Plange-Centre give you access to the main lifts, but there are also plenty of ski-in, ski-out chalets in Plagne 1800, Plagne Bellecôte and Belle Plagne - just a few of the small central resorts. If, however, you are looking for something more traditional then a self-catered chalet, or luxury catered chalet in Montchavin, Les Coches, Montalbert, or Champagny offer traffic free centres and pretty wooded settings, as well as a wide variety of skiing, good shops and bars. Wherever you choose, the high altitudes make for good snow reliability here and this combined with the great runs on offer, the terrain parks, good ski schools and lively après ski, make this a great destination.
