Plan your perfect ski or snowboard holiday in catered or self-catered chalets in Val D'Isere, France

Val D'Isere is one of the star resorts of the French Alps, and deservedly so. The village has all the convenience of a purpose-built resort, a charm comparable to much older traditional resorts, and a range of skiing and snowboarding options to please skiers of all abilities. Sitting at an altitude of 1785m-3300m, Val D'Isere's height gives it a snow-sure guarantee, so that you can reliably make the most of all 150km of piste (the resort's management are even experimenting with solar cannons to make sure you're not skiing in the dark!). The resort's 3 areas include a world cup run, as well as a run used for the 1992 Winter Olympics and a skiing area on the Glacier de Pissaillas. Include neighbour Tignes, and the combined Espace Killy offers a total of 300km of piste, served by 79 lifts and kept in great condition by just under 1000 snow guns. Read more...

Val D'Isere has a reputation as one of the best destinations in the world for experienced skiers. The off-piste opportunities are vast, and easily accessible from one of many lifts, although you will need a guide and proper equipment to explore safely. There are plenty of pistes that will appeal too, and runs tend to be under classified so difficult reds are worthwhile. For less experienced skiers, gentle greens and blues are on offer, and beginners can choose from a range of ski schools and then practice on nursery slopes served by free lifts. Snowboarders will be kept busy for hours in the DC Valpark, with boxes, jumps and rails.

Val D'Isere has plenty to entertain you whether you're a beginner, intermediate or expert skier!

The resort is an attractive town, designed to make your skiing holiday as convenient as possible, and so you can expect stone and wood-clad buildings in ski-in/ski-out locations amongst the accommodation in Val D'Isere. The range on offer is sure to please, and luxury catered chalets in Val D'Isere, complete with pools, saunas and hot tubs, as well as self-catered apartments in Val D'Isere for a low cost skiing holiday, are available. The resort is lively at night, and so your skiing and snowboarding holiday is not put on pause when you leave the slopes! There are around 70 restaurants in Val D'Isere, including three establishments with Michelin stars, as well as great bars for apres-ski including the famous Folie Douce. If you're after a more active time off the slopes then you can head to the sports centre, which has pools, a gym, sauna and climbing wall.
