Location

The area is famous for its unspoilt villages; excellent and extensive off-piste skiing; its reliable snow cover and its uncrowded slopes suited to all levels of skiers. The skiing in the area is superb a modern lift system offering over 220km of pistes and snow secure slopes ranging in height from 1340 to 3000m. The area is suitable for all levels of skiers with off-piste heaven in the resorts of Zinal and Grimentz together with slopes in all five villages most suited to beginners and intermediates. Grimentz is one of the most beautiful and picturesque of the old Valaisan villages in the Val d'Anniviers region in Switzerland

If you like ancient, quiet, totally unspoilt mountain villages together with a modern lift system then this is the place for you. In addition to the piste skiing the area is famous for its fabulous off piste skiing and its mountain touring. For magnificent views just off one the pistes in Grimentz there is a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the Imperial Crown - five 4000m peaks - Weisshorn, Zinalrothorn, Obergabelhorn, Dent-Blanche and the Matterhorn. The village itself has tiny cobbled streets and in some places they are so narrow that the roofs of the chalets almost touch each other in the middle.
