We were first alerted to the possible availability of this chalet in the summer of 2009 and are delighted to be able to offer it to our visitors for the first time in winter 2010/11. Built just 3 years ago to the highest of standards the Chery des Meuniers is a cut-above the majority of chalets and with our sensible pricing we are certain that it will be a winner!

There are ample soft seats for everyone in the huge open-plan living/dining area and it is easy to unwind by watching a DVD or some satellite television on the large flat-screen TV. No expense has been spared on the beautiful furnishings and, as the exertions of the day catch up with you, the soothing effect of the magnificent log-burning stove will do nothing to fend off the temptation to have a nap! The top floor of the chalet boasts a peaceful den area with extra seating and a second television, making it the ideal spot to read a book, catch up with some work courtesy of our free WiFi internet access, or to simply banish the kids when grown-ups want to enjoy their meal in peace!

Location

Chalet Chery des Meuniers takes its name from occupying a commanding position in the hamlet of Les Meuniers and having a great view of the summit of Mont Chery. The hamlet marks the start of the impressive slate-mining valley linking Morzine and the Prodain cablecar to Avoriaz. The chalet benefits from being easily accessible from both resorts. Despite the convenient location the chalet has plenty of outdoor space (including a perfect sledging slope!) and a peaceful setting, with the most prominent noise in the area being the sound of the River Dranse that flows past the end of the garden en-route to Lake Geneva .

Visitors can really make the most of the vast Portes du Soleil region courtesy of the free ski bus that accesses the Pleney or Prodain cablecars in around 5 minutes. The bus runs every 15 minutes in each direction from outside the chalet every day between 8am and 8pm, giving the option of après ski in either Morzine or Avoriaz. The old town of Morzine is a comfortable 15 minute walk from the chalet and offers an array of lively bars and charming restaurants for late night entertainment or chalet night off.

Facilities

The bedrooms all have private facilities in the form of either a traditional bathroom or a cabin-style en-suite with relaxing power showers. Chery des Meuniers differs from most chalets in that it has an exceptional amount of space in the bedrooms. It comfortably sleeps 16 in 5 bedrooms, all with full-size single beds (no folding beds or bunks). All rooms boast traditional Savoyard decor to give a perfect blend of homeliness, cosiness and first-class facilities.

The generous space afforded allows us to offer bargain prices on holidays for groups sharing triple or quad rooms. Whilst other chalets may offer reductions for children we offer substantial ‘3rd and 4 th bed discounts', not just for children sharing rooms but for adults too! In these uncertain economic times many people feel that they have to lower their standards in order to save money. You don't have to be one of them! This is a rare example of having your cake and eating it!
