Portes du Soleil - Chatel
Review provided by a previous Chaletfinder advertiser.
Chatel is a traditional Savoyard village, with traditional French charm, great bars and restaurants. Set in the heart of the Franco-Swiss ski domain, the largest linked ski area of Europe and celebrated for its skiing, its traditional French charm, south facing slopes.
Chatel is in the heart of the Franco-Swiss domain called the Portes du Soleil. The domain, one of the largest in Europe, covers 14 resorts. All in all it has over 650km of ski slopes, well served by 211 ski-lifts.
There are a full range of sports and activities after skiing, including walking, mountain-biking, horse-riding, tennis, swimming, golf, rafting and many others. Lake Geneva with its array of water sports is just 40 minutes drive away.
An intimate break for two, a family holiday,a weekend with your friends... Whatever you choose to do here, in Châtel you'll find everything the perfect village resort has to offer. A lively village centre, perfectly preserved mountain architecture, skiing in the vast unspoiled spaces of the Portes du Soleil, with little side routes here and there that you can follow on foot, on snowshoes or on skis. The countryside is as magnificent as the old chalets in the valley. Here, the atmosphere is a tempting mixture of a tranquil way of life, friendliness and fun!
In France in the morning,
in Switzerland in the afternoon… With the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc in your sights...
You are in Châtel, from where you can enjoy the incredible skiing of the Portes du Soleil, the largest cross-border ski area in the world.
Which is why we love visiting Chatel summer and winter!
