Klosters is situated in the Graubunden mountains just 15 minutes along the road from Davos, although its village feel contrasts sharply with the bustle in Davos. The village has two centres: Klosters Platz is the main focus partly due to its rail connections with Davos; while Klosters Dorf is smaller and lies at the foot of the gondola to the Madrisa skiing area. The resort shares its skiing area with Davos, and the combined area gives you 320km of piste served by 53 lifts. Peaking at an altitude of 2845m and with 40% of the area covered by snowmaking, your holiday comes with a snow sure guarantee. Read more...
The accommodation in the area is varied with hotels in Klosters, as well as apartments and traditional wood-clad chalets in Klosters. What's more, once you include nearby settlements such as Serneus (990m) there really is something for everyone. Of particular appeal are the luxury catered chalets in Klosters, which allow you to switch off and unwind once you've left the slopes behind. As a result, group and family ski holidays in Klosters are fantastic.
In the resort there are great places to eat, including Michelin-starred food as well as exotic options including asian fusion. If apres-ski is what you're after, then bars both on and off the slopes will catch your eye, and if you're looking to continue the party into the night then nightclubs are on offer.
There's something for everyone in the Klosters and Davos shared skiing area
Skiers of all ability are well provided for in Klosters. Beginners have a choice of ski school, with private and group lessons on offer, and there are plenty of beginner-friendly runs on the Madrisa area. For the more experienced and adventurous, there are not only reds and blacks as well as lift-served off-piste to explore, but there's the area on the Davos side to get stuck into. Snowboarders in Klosters can tackle a boarder-cross course, but the real stars of the show are in Davos, which has great snowparks and plays host to international free-ride competitions. If you're looking for cross-country skiing in Klosters then there are 35km of free trails (and plenty more in Davos) as well as a specialist ski school based in the village.
