How to prepare for your next ski season: Steps 1 and 2!

With the next ski season around the corner, we’re here to help with all the ways you can prepare for your next skiing holiday. Throughout this two-part blog, we’ll take you through a few of the different resorts you could visit, the benefits of renting a chalet, exercises for skiing, and the equipment you’ll need.

Step 1: Which resort is best for you?

There are some brilliant resorts to visit, depending on which country you would like to go to. At ChaletFinder we have a huge range of locations to suit your needs, including Andorra, Austria, Canada, France, Italy, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Norway, and the USA. Here are a handful of resorts you could visit.

Grandvalira is a resort located in Andorra which covers the skiable areas of two of Andorra’s seven provinces. It is the largest resort in the Pyrenees, and one of the largest in Europe with 210 kilometres of ski runs spread over a total of 128 slopes of all different levels. It’s great for beginner skiers, so if you’re new to skiing this could be the perfect resort for you.

Norway is the birthplace of skiing, so there’s no better spot for your ski holiday. Trysil is a fantastic resort for all levels of skiers, from beginner to advanced. It’s family-friendly too, so a great place for children. There are 68 slopes and 31 lifts and the unique volcano-shaped Trysil Mountain provides 360 degrees of linked slopes, giving you plenty of ski routes to explore. You will also find the most reliable snow conditions and deep fjords that provide an abundance of varied terrain making it the perfect resort for mixed-ability groups.

If you’re looking for a more affordable ski holiday, then Bankso in Bulgaria is the place for you. It’s great for beginners, and also après so you can combine skiing with some dancing! There’s also a highly-rated ski school and quiet nursery slopes, which are great for new skiers. The centre is a UNESCO protected area, which is coupled with lively bars, restaurants, bowling alley, and an escape room! Bankso is therefore a very versatile and unique ski resort.

Step 2: The benefits of renting a chalet

Of course, half of the enjoyment of your ski holiday comes with your accommodation. There are many benefits to renting a chalet, such as boot storage, food, and the luxuries like a sauna, hot tub, or both!!

You can opt for a self-catered chalet for your ski holiday, which offers many options. If you prefer a private space when you go away, this is a great option for you. It also means you can decide what you want to eat, and when you eat. Therefore, you can stick to your own timetable! If you enjoy going out to eat, this is probably the best option for you too.

Catered chalets are great if you don’t want to bother with the hassle of cooking or cleaning when you’re away, which means you can relax when you get back from a long day on the slopes. They have great social spaces and often extra services such as airport transfers. Catered chalets are perfect if you simply want to put up your feet and not worry about anything during your holiday.

At ChaletFinder we also have Luxury chalets. These chalets include extra amenities, such as a spa, boot room, wine cellar, cinema, games room, library, and sauna barrel. If you really want to unwind in the spa or get competitive in the games room, then these chalets are the ones for you. There are a range of catered and self-catered chalets, so you can choose the perfect catered option to go with your luxury amenities.
