Ski accommodation in Portes du Soleil, the low altitude area in the Savoie region of the Alps straddling the French - Swiss border, comes in a variety of resorts and options. On the French side, ski-in, ski-out chalets in Avoriaz, a lively purpose built resort, are popular with boarders, but ski-chalets in Ardent, or Led Prodains (its two satellite villages) make a better base for families due to their gentle slopes and 'Villages des Enfants'. There is undoubtedly a wide choice here; those seeking a pretty village may wish to try a catered, or self-catered ski chalet apartment in Châtel, or in any of its three satellite villages (Super Châtel, Torgon and Linga). Alternatively, for an unspoilt village location try a ski hotel in La Chapelle-d'Abondance. If you have any questions about our Portes du Soleil chalets, please don't hesitate to give our friendly ChaletFinder advisors a call on +44 7585 861023 and we will be only too happy to help.

There is great ski accommodation in Morzine and Les Gets too; both traditional villages with typical French ambience, sharing the best local skiing in the area. Slope-side ski-in, ski-out chalets and catered ski chalets in Morzine, a lively year round resort, are popular, but a self-catered ski chalet, or ski chalet apartment in Morzine centre also makes a good base for exploring. Ski accommodation in Les Gets, offers a very French, sunny and attractive spot that is popular with families. There are some fabulous luxury ski chalets in Les Gets, complete with saunas and hot tubs and close to the slopes. Luxury ski-in, ski-out chalets and apartments in Les Gets are great for quick access to the lifts of Mont Chéry, or the Chavannes slopes, but to be close to the main amenities, a self-catered ski apartment, or ski hotel in Les Gets would be the better option. In both resorts, the snow record is good and the skiing great for all abilities. There is a wide range of bars and restaurants (with Savoyard fare) here too and in Les Gets families are well catered for with good ski schools, children's clubs, play areas and reasonable prices. On the Swiss side, sitting beneath the impressive Dents du Midi, are luxury ski chalets in Champéry, a picture postcard village, that is classic, charming and relaxed. There are good ski hotels in Les Crosets and Champoussin too, Champéry's two tiny satellite stations, as well as catered ski chalets and ski hotels in Morgins, a traditional village just over the hill. Ski hotels in Val-d'Illiez, are slightly further away from the main slopes, but would also make a good base from which to explore this fantastic region, with its extensive circular tour and wide expanses that vie with The Three Valleys for the World's Largest Ski Area. Portes du Soleil resorts: French side - Avoriaz (plus two satellite villages of Ardent and Les Prodains), Chatel (plus three satellite villages of Super Chatel, Torgon and Linga); La Chapelle-d'Abondance, Morzine, Les Gets Swiss side - Champery (plus two satellite villages of Les Crosets and Champoussin), Morgins,Val-d'Illiez.
