Essert Romand is a small village situated just a 3 minute drive from the town of Morzine. Skiers and snowboarders do not need to leave the Morzine/Les Gets area to find plenty to keep them entertained, and the additional area of the Portes du Soleil makes it one of the most attractive propositions in the world. For beginners, there's a great range of ski schools offering group and private tuition to choose from, and progression from nursery slopes to slightly more challenging runs in Super-Morzine is easy. More experienced skiers have plenty to choose from, and there are plenty of blues, reds and blacks, and some nice challenging runs, for instance those coming down from Chamossiere. Snowboarding in Morzine has a great reputation on the circuit, and with great snowparks in Avoriaz it's no wonder the Portes du Soleil is a top destination for boarders!
