For 2021/22 bookings, many of our owners are now offering flexible booking options. So, if you’re considering planning a trip, we’re on hand to help you find the perfect ski holiday. Easily discover and compare over 1,400 chalets, hotels and apartments across 150 ski resorts worldwide and book direct with the owners!


Confirm your 2020/21 winter ski holiday with ZERO deposit. How does it work? We will confirm all transfers, accommodation, ski passes, ski hire and ski school with no deposit. You can cancel free of charge up to 10 weeks before your date of travel for any reason.

If you need flights either we will book the flight or you book them (currently some guests can change their flights free of charge if their flight was cancelled after 14 March or there are some great flight deals available. The flight cost is due at the time of booking, the balance of the holiday is then due 8 weeks prior to arrival in the resort.

Our Covid-19 refund policy

In the event of your trip being cancelled due to Covid-19 then don’t worry, you won’t be losing your cash. Given travel insurers are unlikely to cover any cancellations next season, we thought we’d do the heavy lifting here – so if your trip does get cancelled due to the closure of the ski resort or chalet, or your inability to travel to resort due to official Government travel; restrictions, you’ll get 100% refund:

  • we’ll pay back your full deposit (£100pp) in cash
  • the final balance will be refunded in the form of a credit, to be used on a future trip within two ski seasons

Our enhanced Airbnb certified cleaning protocols

We’re fully certified against Airbnb’s Covid-19 cleaning protocol and will ensure that enhanced cleaning and disinfecting will be adhered to.

Our Covid-19 refund policy

Here at Alpine Retreat, we understand that people are anxious about making plans in the future that may be thwarted by Covid-19 restrictions. That is why we want to make it clear that if you cannot travel due to Government enforced Covid-19 restrictions, you can either rearrange another date up to 18 months after your original arrival date (100% credit value of original booking transferred) ... or we will offer a full refund. If you make your own choice not to travel, then our usual T&Cs apply.

We will be halving the deposit amount to just £100pp for all new bookings and the final balance will be due 4 weeks prior to your arrival rather than 8 weeks. This new balancing payment date will apply to all bookings regardless of booking date.

If you wish to cancel for any reason other than those stated below, we will retain £100pp to cover costs already incurred and unrecoverable committed future costs.

For individual claimants who are part of groups that have booked a chalet exclusively and the group wishes to keep the booking we will refund the deposit paid (minus the £100pp admin fee) for those who no longer wish to come and subtract £200 from the total website chalet price.  If the group leader is then able to fill any of these spaces, we will add this amount back on to the total chalet cost on a per person basis.

If you wish to cancel for one of the following permitted reasons you will receive a voucher for the full monetary amount you have already paid (so no admin fee) which will be valid on all bookings until April 2022. This applies to ALL bookings including those where the final balance has been paid.

Acceptable reasons for cancellation are:

  • Official Nationwide Travel bans from your country of origin to France or your incoming airport outside of France (Geneva, Milan etc.) which includes the dates of your stay up to the day of arrival.
  • Resort / Full ski area closure which includes the dates of your stay up to the day of arrival.
  • National lockdown of France preventing travel from your country of origin which includes the dates of your stay up to the day of arrival.

If Alpoholics cancel your holiday you will be entitled to either a monetary refund of the full amount paid to Alpoholics or vouchers worth 120% of that value to be used before April 2022 on a single booking (group/individual).

Livigno Ski Holidays

For both Andorra and Livigno for next season, if either governments (Italian or Andorran) closed the borders or the UK government closed their borders and/or did not allow travel because of Covid - all bookings are fully refundable up to the day of arrival.

COVID 19 - For all bookings, if, prior to the arrival date, the Guest’s country of residence advises against all but essential travel to/within France for any period of their holiday and, as a consequence, no part of the holiday is taken by the Guest, the Owner will be able to transfer 100% of the Euro amount already paid for the accommodation, with no additional transfer fees, to a future available date in the same property, arriving within 18 months from the original arrival date.  If the Owner is no longer renting their property, a refund of monies paid for the accommodation will be offered by the Owner less an admin fee of between €50 - €75 + TVA and any bank transaction fees relating to the booking refund.  If the chosen future booking is of greater value, the difference will be due by the Group Leader 8 weeks before the new arrival date.  If the chosen future booking is of lesser value, there will be no refund of the difference by the Owner. Notice must be provided by the Group Leader to the Owner or Alps Accommodation before the arrival date.

Our standard payment policy has been updated to be more flexible during the pandemic exceptional travel circumstances. We have done this as we are a small business and seek to give guests comfort when making a reservation with us. Holiday payments and refund policies are as follows:

We require a deposit when to confirm your reservation.  However, if you need to cancel before your holiday due to travel restrictions, we will refund your deposit less a 3% administration fee. Alternatively, you can transfer your deposit to a future holiday with us (this is of course our preference) and your deposit will be transferred to your new holiday dates. Your remaining balance is upon your arrival with us.

Flexible Booking Terms (winter 20 / 21)

Applicable to bookings made after 3 December 2020. These Flexible (Covid-19) terms and conditions (“the Flexible Terms”) are to be read in conjunction with our standard terms and conditions found on our website. In the event of any inconsistency, conflict or ambiguity as to the rights and obligations of the parties under the Flexible Terms and the Standard Terms, the terms of these Flexible Terms shall control and supersede any such inconsistency, conflict or ambiguity.

Our Covid-19 guarantee applies to the 2020-21 ski season:

  • We will move your booking to the same property, closest dates in the following ski season should the French Local or National Government 'lockdown' France or Les Gets due to Covid-19 such that the accommodation you have booked cannot be used. Of course, to qualify you need to comply with our terms and conditions of payment. The price will be adjusted up or down depending on the new week chosen.
  • If you are not able to enter Les Gets due to restrictions imposed by the French National or Local Government, we will move your booking to the same property, closest dates, in the following ski season. The price will be adjusted up or down depending on the new week chosen.
  • If you book in advance with us and at any time before the final balance is due (8 weeks before your holiday booking) you decide you want to cancel for any reason related to Covid-19 then we will 're-market' the week you have booked and provided we are able to re-sell the week, we will give you a full refund minus any commission fees attached to the new booking.

Illness

If you or any of your group become ill with any Covid-19 symptoms prior to your arrival it is your responsibility not to travel.

If you or any member of your group become ill during your holiday and you are required to self isolate and request to extend your booking you will be obliged to pay for the extended booking required at the full market rate on a per week basis or, if availability is not possible, you are required to find your own alternative accommodation.

Early Departure

Once you have checked into your holiday property if you or any member of your group has to leave early including personal reasons, illness, resort closure, government guidelines or any other reason not listed here, unused nights are non-refundable.

It is a term of your booking that you have adequate travel insurance which, amongst other things, provides cover in relation to the non-refundable elements outlined above, including having to cancel your holiday due to positive tests or illness prior to departure.

Pre-stay:

In light of the ongoing uncertainty relating to the current Covid-19 pandemic, we are currently taking a reduced deposit of just 15% (normally 25%) for all bookings for the 2020/21 winter ski season. In addition, the deadline for the payment of the final balance has also been temporarily reduced from 12 weeks to just 4 weeks before the date of arrival.

Any deposit paid for the 2020/21 winter season will be fully refundable up until the balance due date (or transferable to a new date within 24 months of your original booking) in the event that any of the Covid-19 related restrictions (*) detailed below apply.

Once the final balance of payment has been made, should one of the reasons below (*) adversely impact your stay, you will be able to transfer the value of your booking to a new booking within 24 months of the date of your planned stay.

If the final balance of payment has not been received by us by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and retain the deposit paid and in this case no refund (or transfer to a new date) will be due.

In the event that cancellation of your stay occurs within 7 days of arrival no refund is due and the right to transfer your booking to a future date is lost.

The (*) Covid-19 restrictions are limited to the following situations:

  • The FCDO (previously the FCO), or the equivalent Governmental body in the country of origin, advises against all but essential travel to France and / or the region of Haute Savoie.
  • Quarantine measures are implemented either in France (or Haute Savoie specifically) or in your home country that make your stay untenable.
  • The Grand Massif ski domain and / or the property you have booked are closed due to locally imposed Covid-19 restrictions.

Please Note: Where the booking is cancelled for any other reason, our standard booking terms and conditions will apply.

During your stay:

In the event that as a result of a change in travel restrictions, either in your home country or in France (or Haute Savoie specifically), you decide to curtail your stay no refund will be applied.

To ensure you have a worry-free stay, we are following standards for cleanliness that are recommended by local regulations until further notice. In addition to our normal thorough clean, we will ensure that all frequently touched surfaces such as handles, work surfaces, dining room table and chairs and light switches are disinfected prior to your arrival.

When looking for a winter sports holiday, an important question is: what if there is a second Corona outbreak again and areas go into Lock-down or if negative travel advice applies? Am I then insured, or have I lost my money?

Your winter sports booking is well insured with us.

In case of negative travel advice (code orange or code red) you are well insured with us at all times, we offer the following two options:

  • A good alternative, or payment of a value voucher: your accommodation is located in an area that has negative travel advice at the time of your planned winter sport. In the first instance, we look for comparable accommodation in a safe area for which no negative travel advice applies. If that does not work, we will issue a value voucher. For example, negative travel advice for Tyrol and no negative travel advice for France (Savoie).
  • Money back guarantee: at the time of making the booking you can choose the option “money back guarantee”. In case there is a negative travel advice for the relevant area where the accommodation is located during your winter sports, we will refund the amount paid. For a small additional charge, your payment goes through a guarantee account. The guarantee account – from Certo Escrow, also called third-party money account – ensures that your money is safe and that you benefit from the “money back guarantee”. Neither we nor you as a customer can access the paid costs for winter sports before it has expired. We do not assume, but if we as a company are in a state of financial inability, you will not be harmed by that, after all, we cannot access that money. Costs to use this payment service is € 30 per person per booking, children up to and including 17 years € 20, toddlers and babies up to the age of 3 are free.

Code green
There are no restrictions and the holiday can take place without restrictions. If there is still a reason for you to cancel, then our standard cancellation conditions apply.

Code yellow
There are minor security risks. There are no or few restrictions, for example après-ski tents and other catering facilities are limited and or are limited in opening hours. In that case, there are no consequences for the performance of our service. If you still want to cancel in this case, it is your own choice and our standard cancellation conditions apply.

Code orange
With code orange, only necessary travel is permitted or advised. So the holiday cannot proceed. Chalet Beyond reimburses the trip according to option 1 or 2, which you have chosen when booking.

Code red
Negative travel advice or travel to that destination is prohibited. Chalet Beyond reimburses the trip according to option 1 or 2, which you have chosen when booking.

Our New Flexible Terms & Conditions for Winter 2020/2021 to protect our guests in the event of a further outbreak of Covid-19.

  • No quibble ‘flexible’ alterations to your booking until 14 September 2020 – all bookings can be changed to another date within 24 months of your original booking, for any reason whatsoever and completely free of charge.
  • Accommodation refunds applicable in the event of specific Covid-19 related cancellations – up until the day of arrival, full refunds will be applicable for all bookings, less the deposit paid (the deposit being €100–€150 depending on the chalet booked). Alternatively, a credit-note of 100% of payments made will be offered with no deductions whatsoever. This is in the event of specific Covid-19 related circumstances arising again. 100% refunds for Ski Hire and Lift Passes – all payments for equipment hire and lift passes can be refunded in full up until your arrival date in resort. You have the right to cancel any of these services, for any reason, up until this point and will receive a full refund for amounts paid.
  • Reduced Deposits to secure your booking, just €100-€150 per person – all deposits payable to secure a booking are reduced for next Winter.
  • Balance payments now due just 8 weeks prior to travel – the deadline for the payment of balances due has been reduced from 12 weeks to 8 weeks prior to arrival.
  • All balance payments for accommodation, as well as for equipment hire and lift passes, will be held in a secure account controlled exclusively by our Accountant until the holiday is fulfilled – for your peace of mind all balance payments (being all payments made less the deposit only), and payments for hire and passes, will be held in separate account controlled exclusively by our Accountant until the day you leave resort. This is to give you the peace of mind that your money will be instantly accessible up until the day you depart, should you be eligible for a refund at any time before then.

Special policy regards COVID-19 cancellations

If we, Chalet Gove have to cancel your holiday for any reason, we will refund all money paid including your deposit.

For the situation where you have to cancel your holiday with us because of COVID-19 travel restrictions and cannot claim on your insurance:

  • If you cancel 8 weeks or more prior to your arrival date, we will give you the choice of alternative holiday dates or the return of all money paid, including your deposit.
  • If you cancel 6 weeks or more prior to your arrival date, we will give you the choice of alternative holiday dates, or a credit note valid for two years against another holiday with us (winter or summer), or the return of all money paid, including your deposit.
  • If you cancel less than 6 weeks before your arrival date, we will give you the choice of alternative holiday dates, or a credit note valid for two years against another holiday with us (winter or summer).

Cancellation Policy – covid-19

We understand you may be concerned about booking your next ski holiday. Rest assured your reservation is secure with our new covid-19 cancellation terms.

Free cancellation up to 31st October 2020 with immediate refund of deposit for all reservations for up to 10 people (including for reasons not relating to covid-19).

For any cancellations made prior to your arrival and until the end of April 2021 due to travel restrictions relating to covid-19 either in France or your country of origin prohibiting travel to France, a credit note will be offered with a validity of 18 months from the cancellation date. If the credit note is not used within this time, the reservation will be refunded in full at the end of the 18 months.

Winter season 2021/2022

Whilst the COVID-19 situation is slowly getting under control we appreciate there is still some nervousness around booking your ski holiday for the winter 2021/2022 season. In light of this we have the following COVID-19 policy in place to supplement our standard terms and conditions.

These conditions apply to the 2021/2022 winter season only, specifically guests arriving on or after Saturday 11th December 2021 and departing on or before Saturday 16th April 2022.

At the time your final payment is due (8 weeks before arrival) if any of the COVID-19 situations specified below are in place we will either:

  • transfer any deposit paid to an alternative date; or
  • refund any deposit paid.

Once the final balance payment has been made should any of the below COVID-19 situations specified below occur, up to the date of your arrival, you will be able to:

  • transfer your whole booking to an alternative date; or
  • receive a refund of the final balance amount only (i.e less the 20% deposit paid).

COVID-19 specific situations

  • Government sanctions are in place in France (specifically Haute-Savoie) or your home country, advising against all but essential travel.
  • Government sanctions are in place in France (specifically Haute-Savoie) preventing us from receiving guests.
  • Government sanctions are in place in France (specifically in Haute-Savoie) resulting in the closure of the whole of the Grand Massif ski domain i.e Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon and Samoëns.

Any other reason for cancellation (except the three COVID-19 specific situations mentioned above) will be subject to our standard terms and conditions.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

  • it is a condition of booking with us that you have adequate insurance cover in place.
  • any refunds will be the Euro amount credited to our French bank account, less 1) €50 administration fee 2) any bank charges 3) any credit card handling fees.
  • transferred bookings will be honoured for any stay up to the same value or higher (where you will need to pay any difference in price). These will be valid for 18 months from the date of your original booking.

Covid-19 Special Arrangements

These conditions apply only apply to holidays booked from 1 October 2020, any bookings before this date, our previous arrangements stand.

To help give you peace of mind we have added these special additions to our terms and conditions re cancellations and refunds.

Any deposits paid will be transferable to a new date within 24 months of your original booking in the event that Covid-19 restrictions prevent your holiday from taking place. The deposit payments are not refundable only transferrable.

However

The balance payment is due 8 weeks before you arrive, after this payment has been made, should the Government either in France or in your own country advise against all but essential travel to France and / or the region of Haute Savoie, or the ski lifts are under order not to open during the ski season, we will either refund this balance payment or we would kindly ask you to consider transferring the stay to an alternative date within 24 months of the original date of your stay.

If you cancel the booking for any other reason, standard Chalet Pomet booking terms and conditions apply.

Cancellation policy:

The cancellation is possible until 14 days before arrival: For any cancellation made more than 14 days before the arrival date, the deposit will be refunded.

For any cancellation made between 14 days before the arrival date and the arrival date and for any nights cancelled during the stay, the total amount of the stay initially booked will be charged.

Cancellation policy regarding the COVID-19 situation:

On March 25, 2020, the French Council of Ministers adopted the Ordinance No. 2020-315 and published it in the Official Gazette of March 26, 2020. This text sets the rules for cancellation, due to COVID 19, for vacation stays planned during periods of confinement or traffic restriction.

Subject to the maintenance of this regulation, in the event of a new confinement or traffic restriction, the postponement of the stay to a later date or a credit note (usable under the same conditions) will be offered and valid for a period of 18 months. The refund of the stay will not be possible.

Cancellation free of charge for a cause related to COVID-19

To assist you in the smooth organization of your stay, we undertake to reimburse you in the case of:

  • Closure of our chalet for the dates of your stay, (if this closure occurs during your stay, the unused nights will be refunded).
  • Closure of the resort les Menuires during your stay, (if this closure occurs during the stay, the unused nights will be refunded).
  • Closure of the borders of your country and / or France on the dates of your stay.
  • If quarantine or confinement is imposed on you. (if this quarantine is decreed during your stay and that you have to leave our establishment, the unused nights will be refunded).

These conditions apply to any cancellation of your stay for the causes described above and occurring until the day before your arrival at our establishments.

Cleaning and disinfection are reinforced

We have selected specific products for the cleaning of the chalet.

In addition, an extra disinfection of the touch points has been added to our cleaning process. As a result, we will have to charge 60€ extra per chalet to cover the additional steps to minimize the risk of contamination. Thank you for your understanding.

2021/2022 Covid Terms

We have amended our Covid terms to offer guests maximum flexibility in booking their next ski holiday with Chamonix Exclusive. Offering peace and mind that in the unfortunate event your holiday does not go ahead, your money will be safe.

Standard Covid Cancellation Terms

In the event your holiday is cancelled due to Covid reasons: *'prohibiting travel on account of Covid, for reasons such as: confinement measures on a national or local level, flight or travel restrictions, or you are required to quarantine on arrival in France, or France has closed its borders restricting access or denies access to foreign visitors'. For such reasons a 100% refund will be offered and the deposit of 20% will automatically convert to a voucher / credit note against future holidays.

Please note that in order to qualify for the above Covid related reasons must be in place at the time that your booking is due to take place. Vouchers issued are for all ski chalet bookings. These vouchers are valid until the winter season ending April 2023.

The following reasons do not qualify for consideration under our ‘Covid Cancellation Terms’:

  • An unwillingness to travel
  • An inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid)
  • Individual or household stay-at-home orders

100% Refund Commitment 10 weeks prior to your holiday. Cancellation of your holiday due to reasons defined in our ‘Standard Covid Cancellation Terms’ may be made anytime up until 10 weeks prior to your holiday and in this case a full 100% refund will be offered.

Chillout Mountain – Covid Risk Free Full Refund

Exceptional Circumstances Covid-19 Cancellation Policy

Whilst there remains a Covid-19 pandemic and a risk of travel disruption, Chillout Mountain have developed a risk-free booking and cancellation policy to provide their guests with peace of mind.

Please note: These terms are only valid if your holiday is disrupted by circumstances related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Booking Deposit Terms:

  • If the guest is unable to take the holiday due to the French or International borders being closed, OR the resort being closed by the French government or local authorities as a result of a Covid-19 outbreak OR quarantine being introduced by any European country, then this 20% deposit can be rolled over to another future booking taken within 18 months.
  • If the guest does not want to postpone the booking, and we are unable to resell the property then Chillout Mountain will retain £150 per person as an administrative fee.
  • If the guest does not want to postpone the booking, then the 20% booking deposit will only be refunded in full in the event that Chillout Mountain are able to re-sell the property (for the same dates) to another group should the resort remain open.

After Final Balance Payment:

  • Should the above Covid related situation occur, after the final balance has been paid, then Chillout Mountain will guarantee a full refund of the final balance monies whilst retaining the original booking deposit or £150 depending on the guests choice to either postpone the holiday or cancel entirely.

The above terms will be updated and changed should the circumstances change in the near future.

Explore Bansko Covid-19 Policy

Enquiries for a period of no more than 6 weeks from date of enquiry;

  • No deposit is required just a proof that plane tickets have been bought.

Enquiries beyond the 6 weeks;

  • a 10% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. But the deposit paid can be credited to a future booking valid for the next 3 years or transferred to another party.

COVID 19 EXCEPTIONAL CONDITIONS

It is possible to cancel free of charge up to one day before arrival only in the following proven cases due to the pandemic state of COVID19:

  • Application of government measures that limit travel and movement to the place of residence of our facilities;
  • Official lockdown of your region or city of origin or destination;
  • Closure of the borders between your country of origin and your country of destination;
  • A mandatory quarantine period to be observed for vacationers traveling to the destination country;
  • A mandatory quarantine period to be observed for vacationers returning to their country;
  • One or more travelers positive to the RT-PCR Test for Covid-19 (certificate of isolation issued by a doctor required);
  • One or more travelers have come into close contact with a positive (certificate of isolation issued by a doctor required);
  • Total closure of the ski lifts.

Here at Livigno, we appreciate that it's difficult to know the situation months ahead but we have put below some information on our cancellation policy due to COVID-19 so that you can book with peace of mind. In all cases we would do our best to help you in any situation so please contact us as soon as possible should you need to cancel or change your dates.

  • Any bookings made after the 01/04/20 will be fully refundable should the Italian government restrict travel due to COVID - 19. This includes all services booked which include Accommodation, Airport Transfers, Ski Passes, Ski & Snowboard equipment, Ski & Snowboard School. This applies up to 1800hrs the day before arrival. All refunds will be made within 72 hours .

    You may also choose to change the dates of your stay if you prefer.
  • In the case where Livigno is open but your own Government (for example UK, South African, Irish, Danish or any other) advise you against non-essential travel due to COVID-19, all Airport Transfers, Lift Passes. Equipment rental and Ski Lessons are 100% fully refundable up to 1800 hrs the day before arrival. All apartments are 100% refundable due to Covid-19 up to 15 days before arrival should your own or the Italian government close the borders or advise against non-essential travel due to Covid-19.

    Accommodation booked as "Livigno Ski Apartments" which are apartments that are allocated on arrival are 100% refundable up to 48 hours before arrival due to Covid-19- these apartments can only be booked by email direct with us.

    All other accommodation bookings will be dealt with on an individual basis to come to an agreement however you should make sure you have adequate insurance to cover you for Accommodation.
  • If the hotel or the resort closed during your stay there will be no refund and you would need to contact your insurance company.

We have a Flexible Booking Policy – MOREFlex, which allows you to transfer your deposit paid, no questions asked, to another date of your choice within 24 months of your original holiday start date, completely free of charge with no hidden costs up to 10 weeks before your travel date.

We've also added a Covid Safety Net Guarantee. Once your final balance is paid, and you cannot travel specifically due to Covid-19 restrictions, we agree to offer 100% reimbursal of monies paid towards your original holiday as a credit note. This is valid for any type of More Mountain holiday, winter or summer, taken before 30th April 2023. Alternatively, should you prefer a partial refund, we are happy to offer you a 50% refund of all monies paid.

Hopefully, this gives you a bit more peace of mind when choosing to book with us bearing in mind the current situation.

COVID - Terms. Deferral or Refund.

If you are unable to take your holiday due to Covid-19 restrictions namely :

  • Travel Bans
  • Requirements to quarantine on arrival or return
  • Closure of the Portes Du Soleil ski resort

We offer deferment of the cost of the holiday for up to 2 years later for the same dates and price subject to the conditions below.

Deposit :

25% deposit will be taken at the time of booking, this deposit can be moved to a future date should the client cancel under the COVID terms.

If the guest decides not to defer the holiday and would rather cancel, there is an admin fee of £150 per person.

Balance :

The balance is due 8 weeks before the holiday. Once the balance is taken, if any of the COVID terms above require the guest to cancel the holiday then the payment can be deferred to a future booking less an £150 admin fee per person.

Should the guest not wish to defer the holiday and wishes to cancel, and we cannot re-sell the holiday then the deposit becomes non-refundable, but the final balance will be re-paid.

Who are we offering this to?

All new bookings are eligible. Your chalet booking will be protected, should you need to cancel your booking as a result of COVID-19 travel restrictions in France or from your country of departure.

Our definition of a Coronavirus-related Cancellation:

*Permitted cancellations only where Covid-19 prevents travel due to official and documented measures (i.e. local or national Government prohibitions on travel or visiting Samoens, foreign office mandatory advice, lockdown/s, border & international travel restrictions from country of departure). However, not applicable if airlines (or other methods of transport used by guest) cancel or a guest chooses to cancel for any other reason including illness or personal choice. Where quarantine measures are implemented by the UK government, cancellations will be considered when the FCO amends its status advising against all but essential travel.

PureChalets T & C’s regarding Covid-19:

We are keeping everything crossed that ski holidays can go ahead next winter. But, if you can’t travel due to restrictions relating to Covid-19, you could look to delay your holiday, and transfer the deposit that you have paid to another date of your own choice. The booking could be transferred to another period in 2021, or up to the end of winter 2023. PureChalets are offering this flexibility free of charge, allowing you to transfer your holiday up to the same value of your original booking. We would ask you to:

  • Email your wish to delay your holiday.
  • To communicate at that time, the new requested holiday date.
  • Ensure that you have comprehensive travel insurance in place.

If your holiday is unable to go ahead due to issues relating to Covid-19 – specifically, travel bans that would prevent you getting to us, restrictions on travel or access to the ski area when you get here, the requirement to self-isolate on return from the holiday – we will allow you to defer all monies paid onto your next holiday booking, taken any time in the next 2 years. Effective from 1st September 2020 to 1st May 2022

Our flexible COVID-19 booking terms have been put in place in response to the current global restrictions on international travel and will temporarily replace our existing booking terms and conditions which remain valid and form the contract between you and RushAdventures except for the period stated to the extent of the amendments set out in this document. We feel our guests require flexible booking terms providing greater security and confidence when reserving their holidays during this disruptive period. Our temporary bookings terms are applicable to all accommodation bookings for the Winter 2020/21/22 and Summer 2020/21 seasons should the circumstances specified in paragraphs number 1 – 4 inclusive below apply. Our fully flexible COVID-19 booking terms will be in place until 1st May 2022. In these unprecedented times whilst the Coronavirus is still in circulation, we offer the assurance that monies will not be forfeited if your holiday booking is disrupted by any of the following factors:

  • You are unable to travel due to quarantine measures. This will apply to the following circumstances:
    • You are not permitted to leave your home address
    • You have to quarantine when entering France from your home country
    • You have to quarantine when returning from France to your home country
  • Your Governments and/or Foreign Office advice states you are advised not to travel and/or forbidden to travel to France
  • Local advice from the Haute Savoie Prefecture prevents you from staying in our Chalets
  • Our Chalets are forced to close due to an outbreak of COVID-19

In line with our current booking terms and conditions we require a 30% deposit of the total holiday price to confirm your booking. Your deposit payment is usually non-refundable and non-transferable, but in light of the uncertainties ahead we will transfer your deposit payment to a new booking date* either later in the current season or in the next season, or if you prefer we will issue a full refund. Your final balance payment of the holiday price will be due 12 weeks before you are due to arrive. Once the final balance payment of the holiday price has been made you will then be able to cancel your existing booking if the circumstances specified in paragraphs 1 – 4 inclusive above apply and either transfer your holiday payment to a new booking date* or receive a full refund of your holiday payment.

*This means your booking deposit payment and your final holiday balance payment can be transferred to any other available winter 2022, winter 2023, summer 2021 or summer 2022 dates.

We are offering these new COVID-19 specific booking terms as we are aware that it is unlikely you will be able to get travel insurance that covers your holiday cost. There are companies now offering insurance cover if you fall sick with COVID-19 before or during your holiday. Please note it is a condition of booking with us that you have adequate insurance cover. We cannot be held liable if you are unable to claim on your holiday insurance due to insufficient or inappropriate cover. All other holiday booking terms and conditions remain the same:

HEALTH AND SAFETY

We always maintain a very high level of cleanliness in our Chalets, but as an extra precaution and in line with government advice we are being extra vigilant when cleaning all high contact areas such as light switches and door handles. Social distancing will be enforced for any shared chalets and will be particularly relevant during mealtimes. More information will be made available to you when you arrive or can be provided on enquiry to us at any time. All our staff will wear face masks in line with Government advice. We require any guests staying in shared Chalets to wear masks when moving around the Chalet, as well as requiring all guests to regularly wash their hands and use the hand sanitisers available in and around the Chalet.

Here at Self-Catered St Martin, we want to help you secure your ski holiday and get you excited about getting life ‘back to normal’ without the worry of losing any money!

That’s why we’ve introduced our flexible booking offer for winter 2020/21 holidays. This will give you the choice between either a refund of your booking costs or a change in holiday dates if:

  • You cannot travel to resort due to Covid-19 travel restrictions
  • The 3 Vallées ski resort officially announces to close due to Covid-19

This flexible booking offer is valid on all new bookings (up until April 2021) where the booking was confirmed after 01/05/2020. This offer is subject to availability. All other usual terms and conditions apply.

Any cancellations caused by either travel restrictions to France (FCO or relevant governmental body linked to the client’s residential country, announces travel to be unsafe / border closures, announces travel to be unsafe / border closures) or official announcement by the ‘3 Vallées’ that the ski area is closed in relation to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) or severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS COV-2) or any mutation or variation of these will receive either a refund (minus admin fee – see below) of the holiday payment (deposit and balance payment if applicable) or the option to move the holiday to another date. (Additional costs may be incurred if a more expensive week is chosen.)

Admin fee: A minimal fee applies to cancellations in order to cover a small part of the time and costs involved. The admin fee is a maximum of €150.00 or 2% of the total accommodation cost (whichever is lower).

It is a condition of booking that you take out a winter sports travel insurance policy when booking your holiday to cover you for situations other than Covid-19.

Our ‘flexible booking offer’ is only valid for the two reasons as aforementioned. It does not apply to any other types of cancellation, hence the need for winter sports travel insurance which includes a section relating to this.

Here is our new Covid-19 Policy which forms part of our terms and conditions:

  • All bookings will be fully refundable should the Andorran government close the borders due to COVID – 19. or your accommodation or the resort is closed. This includes all services booked which include Accommodation, Airport Transfers, Ski Passes, Ski & Snowboard equipment, Ski & Snowboard School. This includes up to 12 hours before your arrival date. All refunds will be made within 7 days.
  • If travel advice from your own country is issued/changed up to 48 hours before you travel and advice against non-essential travel due to COVID-19, we will Guarantee a full refund. No refund is due if Government advice changes during your stay.
  • Accommodation bookings made before 31/10/20 come with free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival for non-COVID-19 reasons. This will be stated on your voucher as well at the time of booking.
  • Ski extras (lift pass. equipment, ski school) These are fully refundable up to 7 days before arrival for both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 reasons.
  • Airport Transfers – These are fully refundable up to 7 days before arrival for both COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 reasons.

Our new 'Covid Promise' offers a quick and easy refund of your balance payment and protects your deposit, should circumstances change.

Until the 15th September 2020 we are taking reduced deposits of £500 to secure your preferred chalet. This deposit can be fully refunded for any reason until the 15th September. After the 15th September 2020, your full deposit of £150 per person is due. The balance of your holiday is then due 10 weeks prior to your holiday.

We understand that our clients are looking for total flexibility and transparency, which is why should your holiday be cancelled for any of the reasons stated below, your deposit payment automatically converts to a voucher for future holidays with Ski Basics and your balance is fully refunded:

  • If the FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) advise against travel (including non-essential travel) to your destination;
  • If you are required to quarantine upon arrival to your destination due to the laws and regulations of the relevant Government in that country;
  • If the chalet you have booked with us has been forced to close due the laws and regulations of the relevant Government in that country, as well as any other local or public authority;
  • If the destination you are travelling to has closed its borders or is otherwise denying entry to visitors.

Please note: the above Covid-19 related reasons must be in place at the time that your booking is due to take place and it must affect the travel arrangements you have booked with us or your transport to the destination.

We have amended our Booking Terms and Conditions to offer our clients flexibility and the freedom to travel this winter with our reassurance that in the unfortunate event that your holiday cannot go ahead your money will be protected. Our new 'Covid-19 Pledge' offers a quick and easy refund of your balance payment and safeguards your deposit, should circumstances change.

Payment Plan & Deposit

We are offering flexible payment terms: Fully Refundable Deposit up to 30 Sept 2020.

The deposit payment is 20% of the chalet cost. This will secure your chalet for your chosen date.

The holiday balance is due 10 weeks prior to the arrival day.

To give you complete peace of mind, in the event of cancellation of your booking due to Covid-19 after 30 Sept we will refund your balance fully into your bank account and your deposit payment automatically converts to a credit note for a future holiday with Ski Blanc. Or you can pick another trip and take up your 100% credit note entitlement to the value of your accommodation payments.

We have made the Covid-19 Pledge as simple and as clear as possible. Should your holiday be cancelled for any of the following reasons our guarantee automatically applies.

An inability to travel to the property during your booked dates due to official Government travel restrictions related to Covid-19. Valid circumstances are:

travel restrictions put in place by the government of the country where the property is located restricting your ability to travel either to the country or to the property.

travel restrictions put in place by the government of your place of departure, restricting your ability to travel to the country where the property is located.

If the destination you are travelling to has closed its borders or is otherwise denying entry to visitors

Official closure of the chalet you have booked with us by the relevant Government in that country, as well as any other local or public authority due to their laws and regulations

If you are required to quarantine upon arrival to your destination due to the laws and regulations of the relevant Government in that country

The above Covid-19 stated reasons must be in place at the time that your booking is due to take place.

Our 'Covid Pledge' is applicable to all bookings made for the coming 2020-21 season, who have already paid their deposit in full.

Quibble free cancellation due to Covid19.

If the resort cannot open due to covid 19, or due to government travel restrictions (French or your home country), then we will pay back to you the total monies paid less reservation fees as follows:

If just the deposit has been paid to secure the chalet (£1400) and you have to cancel due to the above reasons, £200 is a non-refundable reservation fee.

If the balance is then paid, which is due 8 weeks before the start of the holiday, this will include a further £200 non-refundable reservation fee.

If you have to cancel less than 8 weeks before the start of the holiday, we will pay back the monies paid less £400 – ( non-refundable reservation fees)

If you prefer not to cancel, you can transfer your holiday to a later date in 2020 or winter 2021, (equivalent week i.e. peak/off peak for the following season). We would keep the money you have already paid on deposit.

Normal cancellation fees will apply for any other reason.

This policy does not cover for personal illness or voluntary or compulsory confinement when travel is still permitted by governments.

It is highly recommended to take out additional Coronavirus travel insurance.

Ski Magic COVID-19 refunds

We have put together a clear policy to provide protection should COVID-19 related government restrictions mean that you are unable to travel. This guarantee applies to all new and existing bookings for holidays between 1st December 2021 and 30th April 2022.

We are offering the following two options:

Your choice of refund or rebooking:

Should you be unable to travel for any of the reasons listed below, you can choose whether to:

  • Receive a refund
  • Put your deposit towards a chalet in winter 2022-23 (and receive any balance payments as a refund)

1. Our refund policy

If you are unable to travel to the chalet you have booked for the reasons listed below, you can choose for Ski Magic to reimburse the payments you have made to us, with the exception of £100 per person to cover administrative and operational costs already incurred by Ski Magic in the organisation of your holiday.

2. Changing the date of your holiday

If you are unable to travel to the chalet you have booked for the reasons listed below, you can choose to put your deposit of £300 per person already made to Ski Magic towards a similar chalet reservation during winter 2022-2023. Your balance payments will be fully refunded.

Reasons for cancellation

If, prior to the start of your arrangements, your booking cannot proceed due to any of the following reasons linked to the coronavirus pandemic, you will be entitled to choose from the two options outlined above.

Reasons for cancellation are:

  • The French authorities impose regional or national restrictions which result in the closure of the French border.
  • The authorities of your home country advise against all but essential travel to France.

In no circumstances are we responsible for any other expenses including, without limitation, the cost of flights or any other form of transport.

If you are unwilling to travel for any reason, or you are unable to travel due to medical reasons, normal cancellation charges apply.

It will still be necessary for you to secure travel insurance to cover your stay with us. We have updated our terms and conditions to reflect these changes to our usual booking policy.

COVID-19 Winter Guarantee 2020-2021

Travel with confidence - our 100% guarantee With the ongoing concerns with COVID-19 related travel we are offering a flexible and secure policy to give you peace of mind.

At the time of booking, it is a requirement to have the most robust travel insurance you can find. We realise there are challenges with cover for COVID-19 related cancellations, however there are several insurance providers that insure you once you have COVID-19 and need to isolate. We can advise on this as required.

It must be noted that Skizeen Ltd is not a travel insurance company and as such there are limits to what we can offer with regards to COVID-19 and cancellations.

A flexible approach

Skizeen Ltd is offering the following with regards to COVID-19 related travel. You can find the full terms and conditions via the link on our website. Please do contact us to discuss any of this for further clarification.

Securing your stay 10% deposit required to secure your stay.

A further 15% due 8 weeks from your arrival date.

Final balance for your stay due 35 days before your arrival date to resort. If final payment is not received 5 weeks before your arrival date Skizeen Ltd shall have the right to cancel your booking and keep the deposit amount already paid.

Cancelling your holiday

If you want to cancel your holiday for any reason other than those listed below, we will retain your deposit to cover costs we have already incurred and future costs we are liable for.

Acceptable reasons for Cancellation and 100% deferral of funds paid

We understand that our clients are looking for total flexibility and transparency, which is why should your holiday be cancelled for any of the reasons stated below, all your payments to date will be automatically converted to a voucher for credit against a future holiday (within 18 months from the arrival date of your existing holiday) with Skizeen Ltd at the advertised price of the chalet holiday and dates you choose subject to availability. Vouchers cannot be split for multiple stays of lessor value but used for one future booking within 18 months of your arrival date.

Acceptable reasons for cancellation are:

  • Official Nationwide Travel bans from your country of origin to France or your incoming airport outside of France (Geneva, Milan etc.) which includes the dates of your stay up to the day of arrival.
  • Resort / Full ski area closure which includes the dates of your stay up to the day of arrival.
  • National lockdown of France preventing travel from your country of origin which includes the dates of your stay up to the day of arrival.

Please Note: An official government statement must have been published to confirm any of the above circumstances are in effect at the time your booking is due to take place.

Skizeen Ltd are trying hard to be transparent in our dealing with any future COVID-19 related problems. As a small family-owned business, we cannot be held accountable for all circumstances relating to future COVID-19 issues. We incur huge costs preseason in relation to property rental, staff transport, accommodation and wages, business tax and vat payments, ongoing investment, building and business insurance etc so we fulfil our commitment to provide our holidays with the funds we receive for each holiday. The offering of deferrals to the following year (18 months) is a good will gesture that we hope will ease the pressure on both parties involved in our holiday contracts. Covid-19 Guarantee: We will provide a refund of your Accommodation and Services payments in the event of cancellation, in response to the COVID-19 situation, where the reason for cancelling falls under one of the scenarios below (and the scenario is effective on the date before arrival).

  • France closes their border such that you are prohibited from travelling to France.
  • Your country of origin closes their border such that you are prohibited from travelling to France.
  • The French government decides to impose quarantine restrictions on your country of origin.
  • The La Plagne ski area is ordered to close for winter sports activities.
  • There is closure of the accommodation booked (and we cannot re-accommodate you in an equivalent property).

Covid-19 Guarantee Conditions

  • The cancellation must apply to all individuals who have booked to stay in the accommodation.
  • If you have to depart from the accommodation early for any of the reasons above, a reimbursement will be made for the nights that you do not stay.
  • we will refund all payments that we hold that have been made by you for accommodation and services within 14 days.

COVID-19 Winter 2020/21 Risk Free Bookings

In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, we want all guests to be able to book with confidence and have therefore introduced the simple policy below in addition to our usual terms and conditions.

New bookings will have the option to defer their stay or a full refund, if at the time of their intended stay;

The UK FCO (Foreign & Commonwealth Office) advise against all but essential travel to your chalet destination country, or;

Local Authorities in the country of the chalet impose travel restrictions which affect the ability to reach the chalet, or;

Local Authorities in your origin country impose travel restrictions which affect the ability for you to travel to the chalet.

We recommend all guests check their travel and winter sports insurance carefully prior to travel.

Additionally, to help with social distancing we will this winter be limiting all our chalets to single groups only, no chalet will have separate independent bookings.

For the 2021-22 winter season a Covid-19 policy is in place supplementary but not replacing the Snow Retreat Terms and Conditions. When booking please read the full Terms carefully.

Should one or more of the covid-19 related situations below be in place on the date of your arrival you may cancel your holiday and receive the total amount paid less £20 per person to cover the pre stay services supplied.

  • If the national advisory body of the party leaders country of origin (as stated on the signed Terms and Conditions) advises against non-essential travel to France (for example the Foreign and Commonwealth office in the UK).
  • If France has closed its borders or is otherwise denying entry to visitors.
  • If due to the laws and regulations of the French government you are required to quarantine for more than 24 hours upon arrival in France.
  • If the chalet you have booked is stipulated to close due the laws and regulations of the French government.

Flexible booking conditions and lockdown/quarantine guarantee for winter 2020/21

For added flexibility, we will allow you to change the dates of your holiday to another date in the 2020/21 season with no penalties up to 14 days prior to departure.

We will also guarantee your booking payments for any of our chalets or apartments for winter 2020/21. In the event of a lockdown/quarantine in Megeve or a lockdown/quarantine affecting you in the UK due to Coronavirus for the period of your holiday we will refund any money you have paid us less an admin fee or give you the option to roll over your holiday to next season with no price increases.

Our admin fee is £50/person in catered chalets, £200/apartment. This is a similar level to the excess you would have to pay if you were able to obtain insurance.

You do need to have holiday insurance that covers you personally for contracting Coronavirus and repatriation should you catch it whilst on holiday. This is available now at a number of providers

To secure a booking, an initial deposit of £500.00 per booking is required 12 weeks prior to your departure date. Any final balance would be due 4 weeks prior to departure. If you are booking within 4 weeks of departure, the full balance must be paid at the time of booking.

Due to the ever-changing nature of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to offer refunds where you elect to cancel your booking in accordance with the terms of this Policy, in the following situations as set out below:

  • Where the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (or the equivalent government body of your country of origin) advise against travel (including non-essential travel) to your destination; or
  • Your accommodation has been forced to close due to restrictions imposed by French government or the local authority; or
  • The Courchevel or La Tania resort in which your accommodation is based has been forced to close due to restrictions imposed by French government or the local authority. For the purpose of this point (c), a resort closure means the closure of all non-essential business and/or closure of ski-lifts.

All holiday payments made to The Freeride Republic are fully protected by supplier failure insurance and placed in an independent trust account scheme through PTS Protected Services.

All cancellations must be notified to us in writing by email to enquiries@thefreeriderepublic.com. The right to cancel in the above circumstances will not arise until 14 days before your scheduled arrival date (and only applies if the relevant restrictions are still in place at the time of cancellation). We will offer a full refund if you cancel between 14 and 7 days before your scheduled arrival date, due to circumstances (a), (b) or (c) above. If you cancel within 7 days before your scheduled arrival date due to the circumstances (a), (b) or (c) above, we will offer an 80% refund due to costs we have already incurred at this point in confirming your accommodation arrangements with our suppliers.

You will not be entitled to a refund in the following circumstances:

  • Unwillingness to travel. In these circumstances, we will treat this as cancellation by you and you the cancellation charges in clause 6 of our Booking Terms and Conditions shall apply;
  • If, prior to your departure date, the government of your country of origin impose quarantine requirements upon your return from France. In these circumstances, we will treat this as cancellation by you and you the cancellation charges in clause 6 of our Booking Terms and Conditions shall apply;
  • If the French government impose quarantine requirements on arrivals into France. In these circumstances, we shall offer you the choice of a holiday credit* to use for a future booking with us, or the option of transferring your booking to the following year.

If you choose or are otherwise offered a holiday credit upon cancellation of your booking, the following terms shall apply:

  • The amount will equal the value of your original booking;
  • It will be valid for redemption for a period of 2 years from the date of issue;
  • It cannot be resold, transferred for value or exchanged for cash;
  • The person who is named on the voucher must redeem it, this will be the party leader.
  • Where the holiday credit is used to make a new booking that is then subsequently cancelled for whatever reason, any refund due to you will be in the form of a holiday credit up to the value of the initial holiday credit.
  • Freeride Republic will not be responsible for any holiday credit that is lost, stole, destroyed or used with your permission.

This Policy applies to all bookings that were made and confirmed in accordance with the Booking Terms and Conditions whilst this Policy was in place. However, we reserve the right to withdraw or amend this Policy at any time before such a booking has been confirmed.

Covid-19 Terms

If, on the day before arrival, any of the circumstances outlined below apply to your booked dates, and this results in your booking being cancelled, then you will be entitled to a 100% refund of your accommodation payments.

Valid circumstances covered by these Covid-19 cancellation terms are limited to:

  • official closure of the property due to Covid-19 restrictions if the government of the country where the property is located, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or to the property, or imposes a mandatory quarantine on arrival if the government of your country of departure, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or region where the property is located.
  • if the government of your country of departure, advises against all non-essential travel to the country or region where the property is located, or makes it mandatory to quarantine on return from the property.

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation terms, and the standard cancellation terms will apply.

These Covid-19 cancellation terms are valid up to the day before arrival. After this date there will be no refund or credit note should Covid-19 have an impact upon your booking.

Your country of departure will be determined by the address used at the time of booking and this address will apply to all parties on the booking.

COVID-19 ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Guests may choose between two payment options when securing their booking with us.

Option 1 – Standard quoted price and the booking is bound by our standard Terms and Conditions which can be seen here: https://www.totalchalets.co.uk/prices/terms-conditions/

Option 2 – Pay an additional 10% to the chalet total and have a Covid-19 refundable or transferable option (detailed below).

If guests wish to make their booking refundable in this way, we charge an extra 10% in addition to the chalet price. For example, if the chalet cost is £250 per person, they would pay £275 per person and this would mean the £250 per person is refunded or a credit note issued if there are Covid-19 issues (listed below).

Valid reasons that will lead to the utilisation of this Covid-19 cancellation policy are limited to:

  • official closure of the property during your booked dates due to Covid-19 restrictions. In this case you will receive a 100% refund (excludes the extra 10%).
  • an inability to travel to the property during your booked dates due to official Government travel restrictions related to Covid-19.

Valid circumstances are:

  • travel restrictions put in place by the government of the country where the property is located restricting your ability to travel either to the country or to the property. In this case you will receive a 100% refund (excludes the extra 10%).
  • travel restrictions put in place by the government of your place of departure, restricting your ability to travel to the country where the property is located. In this case you will receive a 100% refund (excludes the extra 10%).
  • guests choosing to cancel due to a requirement to quarantine upon returning from the country where the property is located. In this case you will receive a 100% credit note for a future holiday with us.

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation policy, and the standard cancellation policy will apply. These include, but are not limited to:

  • an unwillingness to travel
  • an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)
  • individual/household stay-at-home orders

COVID-19: Flexible booking terms & enhanced cleaning protocols

We are excited about the upcoming winter 2020-21 season and are delighted that so many weeks in our chalets have been booked already.

We also appreciate that whilst many of our customers are wanting to book their chalet holiday for next season, the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 may be holding them back. We hope that our new booking terms and conditions, plus our revised operating procedures set out below will address these understandable concerns.

We acknowledge that we have a part to play to help manage the control of Covid-19 and that we have a responsibility to implement measures to give peace of mind to our customers by offering flexible booking terms. We have been working hard to devise a model to protect both the money and health of our customers.

Book a White Horizons chalet holiday with confidence

We have restructured our business model with renegotiated supplier contracts to enable us to provide our guests with flexibility when booking for winter 2020/21 and to have a workable strategy in place should there be further disruption due to Covid-19 during the winter season.

Our updated terms and conditions are designed to give you greater protection and flexibility as follows:

Covid-19 flexible booking terms

In the event of cancellation of your booking due to Covid-19 you will be entitled to a 100% credit note to the value of your accommodation payments in the circumstances outlined below.

Valid reasons that will lead to the utilisation of this Covid-19 cancellation policy are limited to:

  • official closure of the property during your booked dates due to Covid-19 restrictions
  • an inability to travel to the property during your booked dates due to official Government travel restrictions related to Covid-19. Valid circumstances are:
    • travel restrictions put in place by the government of the country where the property is located restricting your ability to travel either to the country or to the property
    • travel restrictions put in place by the government of your place of departure, restricting your ability to travel to the country where the property is located.

All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation policy, and the standard cancellation policy will apply. These include, but are not limited to:

  • an unwillingness to travel
  • an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)
  • individual/household stay-at-home orders

This Covid-19 cancellation policy is valid up to the day of travel however there will be no refund once you have arrived in the resort should Covid-19 have any impact upon your booking once you have arrived.

Where a credit note is issued this will be valid for 24 months and can be used against a future booking in the property. The arrival date of the future booking must be within 24 months from your original arrival date.

Reduced initial payment to secure your chalet booking

We’ve reduced the initial payment amount required to secure a chalet booking, from £250pp to £100pp, with, in some cases, a second instalment of the same amount required at an agreed later date.

Balance payments now due just 6 weeks prior to travel

We have reduced our balance payment terms from 10 weeks to 6 weeks prior to holiday start date.

Stay in our chalets with confidence – enhanced chalet cleaning protocols and Covid-19-specific training

  • Through a combination of our industry experience and up to date guidance, we have risk assessed our chalet operation and have introduced enhanced chalet cleaning protocols to provide our guests with a safe environment in which to relax and enjoy spending time during your holiday.
  • We have produced enhanced cleaning checklists and written protocols in line with hospitality industry standards.
  • Based on these protocols, all White Horizons employees will receive comprehensive Covid-19-specific hygiene training, to enable them to deliver enhanced cleaning and disinfecting measures throughout our chalets.
  • Employees will be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) specific to their job role. In addition to protecting themselves, PPE reduces the chance of transmission by an infected person.
  • Employees will undergo regular monitoring, including temperature checks before the start of every shift. Any staff member showing any Covid-19 symptoms will be removed from work immediately and isolated until they are safe to return.
  • The communal areas of each chalet will be disinfected every day, with multiple cleans for touch points such as door handles and light switches. The whole chalet will be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and well ventilated on a changeover day.
  • Hand sanitiser and paper hand towels will be available throughout chalets for guest use. Employees will be required to sanitise regularly while working in the chalet.
  • In addition to our normal high standards of spa maintenance and water chlorine and pH levels (testing and acting on the results of each test 3 times per day), the spa (& sauna in Chalet Sundance) area of each chalet will be cleaned and disinfected regularly. We will need to follow advice from the French Government regarding any social distancing measures necessary during your holiday.

Covid-19-specific services

  • For winter 2020-21, our chalets are available for sole use chalet bookings only.
  • Any group who are interested in reducing their contact with our team, please ask us in advance to discuss this further. Practical examples are:
  • Socially distanced catering can be offered as buffet style meals.
  • Guests can opt out of daily bedroom and bathroom cleaning, with cleaning products made available for guests to use themselves.
  • Self check in option available
  • A self service breakfast option available
  • Provision of extra cleaning products for guest’s own use during your stay.
  • 2 of our chalets are available on a self catered basis for winter 2020/2021; Chalet Arabette (sleeps 12) and Chalet Le Loup (sleeps 9)

We will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation and where necessary will review our protocols. Should you have any additional requests which would give you greater peace of mind during your stay, please do not hesitate to speak to us and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Tignes as a Resort

The Grande Motte Glacier in Tignes has been open for skiing and snowboarding this summer. It is encouraging that the social distancing and Covid control measures necessary to open the ski lifts have been tried and tested in advance of the winter.

Bars and restaurants in Tignes are open and have measures in place to minimise the spread of Covid, so you will still be able to enjoy apres-ski during your holiday.

The Tignes local government have been producing a charter outlining the measures the resort of Tignes will put in place to protect visitors. They are currently working with local business to ensure everyone is complying with the directives of the French Government with regard to PPE, cleaning protocols and social distancing measures.

Travelling to Tignes Les Brevieres

Our chalets in Tignes Les Brevieres have excellent car parking options and so are ideal for driving from the UK or renting a car from the airport to avoid shared airport transfers.

Insurance and Travel Information

Many travel insurance policies will no longer cover you as standard if your holiday is disrupted due to Covid, however there are new policies and add-ons appearing in the market that will and we would highly recommend that you source additional Covid travel insurance, including cover for NHS Test & Trace disrupting your holiday plans.

If, on the day before arrival, any of the circumstances outlined below apply to your booked dates, and this results in your booking being cancelled, then you will be entitled to either a 100% refund of your accommodation payments or a 100% credit note depending on the applicable circumstances. Valid circumstances covered by these Covid-19 cancellation terms are limited to:

  • Official closure of the property due to Covid-19 restrictions - 100% refund applies in this case
  • if the government of the country where the property is located, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or to the property, or imposes a mandatory quarantine on arrival - 100% refund applies in this case
  • official closure of all ski lifts due to Covid-19 restrictions - 100% credit note applies in this case
  • if the government of your country of departure, imposes a mandatory travel restriction preventing travel either to the country or region where the property is located - 100% credit note applies in this case
  • if the government of your country of departure, advises against all non-essential travel to the country or region where the property is located, or makes it mandatory to quarantine on return from the property - 100% credit note applies in this case All other reasons will not be considered a valid reason to utilise the Covid-19 cancellation terms, and the standard cancellation terms will apply. These include, but are not limited to:
    • an unwillingness to travel
    • an inability to travel due to medical reasons (including any related to Covid-19)
  • individual or household stay-at-home orders These Covid-19 cancellation terms are valid up to the day before arrival. After this date there will be no refund or credit note should Covid-19 have an impact upon your booking. Where a credit note is issued this will be valid for 12 months and can be used against a future booking in the property. The arrival date of the future booking must be within 15 months from your original arrival date.
