• Property Description

This lovely 3 star apartment on the Les Gets side of Morzine is one of 10 in a two-storey purpose-built building in a quiet residential area. Sitting above the village, it enjoys spectacular views of the valley and mountains. It's a five minute drive to Les Gets town centre.

The free ski bus stops outside the chalet, which means that the road is regularly cleared of snow. The apartment is perfect for familes as it has a large enclosed sunny terrace where children can play safely.

This cosy self-contained apartment, which sleeps eight (six adults and two children) has a private entrance from the terrace and parking just outside. There's a useful ski store down a few steps from the entrance hall, but the rest of the apartment is on one floor.

The large open plan living area has a well-equipped kitchen a dining table for eight and a cosy sitting area with a large sofa and a couple of chairs around a woodburner. From here doors open onto the sunny enclosed terrace which is perfect for star-gazing or, in the summer, barbecues and sun-bathing.

The large master bedroom has a double bed and en suite shower room, and the other two bedrooms both have double beds with a single bunk over. These rooms share a bathroom, but there is also a hand laundry room with washing machine, drier, sink and toilet.

Decor is contemporary and mountain-style, with comfort and practicality in mind, so that your holiday goes without a hitch.

Great location surrounded by fantastic skiing...
With the ski bus stopping right outside La Farandole, you can forget about driving when you head for the slopes, but if you do want to take the car out, the fact that the apartment is on a bus route means that the road is always cleared of snow.

Morzine is in the centre of the Portes du Soleil, making the neighbouring resorts of Les Gets and Avoriaz easily accessible. You can also ski in to Switzerland, but be warned, only the most accomplished skiers should tackle the Swiss Wall - a huge mogul field which is classified as an orange route - too hazardous for a black! But with 650km of pistes, there is plenty of scope for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. The location of La Farandole puts you withing easy reach of Les Gets ski lifts which will whisk you in to the heart of the Avoriaz ski area.

If you're not a skier, the close resort of Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which are often host to ice hockey matches, and the local cinema often shows films in English.

The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling or ice-climbing on some of the area's frozen waterfalls, or discover the area in a more sedate manner on a sleigh ride. Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park offers a variety of activities for all ages.

Biking, hiking and plenty of fun for all ages ...
As spring comes to the Portes du Soleil, a whole new range of activities opens up to visitors. Lush green slopes replace the pistes, and the mountains become a haven for hikers, bikers and thrill-seekers. The lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure. Take a picnic, and make a day of it!

For a change of scene, visit the nearby resorts of Morzine/Avorias or the village of Montriond and its lake, which is perfect for a gentle stroll. Les Gets has earned Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment, so it's the perfect choice for young families.

There are superb water parks in the town and in neighbouring Avoriaz, as well as two summer sledging runs, while the Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages. Golfers will find excellent courses just a short drive away in Les Gets and Avoriaz.

Other activities in the area include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing and kayaking. If all this sounds like hard work, you could always just relax on the furnished terace at La Farandole ...

Spread your wings and explore lake and mountain villages ...
The lively town of Les Gets and the neighbouring resort of Morzine offer plenty of variety for a holiday, whatever the time of year, but if you venture a little further, there's plenty more to discover.

The Portes du Soleil resorts span the border with Switzerland, giving you two countries and two cultures to experience. It's just over half an hour's drive to Lake Geneva, where you can explore lakeside resorts the pretty spa town of Evian-les-Bains, or the beautiful medieval village of Yvoire. You can also cruise to other lakeside towns such as Lausanne and Montreux.

In Chamonix, just an hour's drive away, enjoy a ride on the second-largest cable car in the world, and take in the spectacular views from Mont Blanc. Geneva airport is just over an hour away from La Farandole, making it easy to return if you don't get to see everything this time!
