The chalet is located on the first floor in one of those unique stone buildings which Courbaton Village is known for and has 5 bedrooms with en-suites and an open plan living/dining/kitchen area (sleeps 10).
Home cooked meals are served in the spacious upstairs living/dining room with a log fire, panoramic views and balconies on 2 sides with great views across the Tarentaise valley to the Beaufortain.. We welcome children and provide healthy children's meals.
There is an indoor sauna. There is plenty of car-free playing space in and around Courbaton and plenty for children to explore.
The village gave its name to the ski area that preceded Les Arcs - Courbaton 1750. But Courbaton's history goes back even further, having been developed from a farming hamlet in the 1950s to provide accommodation for workers building the huge Tignes-Malgovert hydroelectric scheme. When this was completed it became a winter and summer holiday resort for employees of EDF (Electricité de France) before passing into private hands about 10 years ago. Since then the main buildings have been carefully converted into high-quality chalets and apartments.
Arc 1600 is a mere 15 min walk away with access to the funicular which takes you down to Bourg Saint Maurice in less than 7 minutes and to the local shuttle busses between Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000.
