Stunning views, plenty of space and light, and a luxurious spa area - Chalet Soprano has all the ingredients for an unforgettable holiday in the Portes du Soleil.
Set in Montriond, just a few minutes from the busy resort of Morzine, this four-storey chalet has wonderful views of the valley and the Roc d'Enfer.
Sleeping 12, it's perfect for a group of families or friends - there's even a self-contained studio in the basement for a couple who would appreciate a little more privacy!
Built in half storey, you'll find most of the bedrooms on the ground floor of Chalet Soprano - four elegant doubles, each with an en suite shower room, and a stunning master suite with kingsize bed, dressing area, large bathroom with bath and shower, and access to the terrace. There is even a woodburner if you fancy a cosy early night!
The sixth bedroom is in fact a self-contained studio on the lower ground floor. It has its own kitchenette, shower room and kingsize bed. There's also a large garage, a laundry room and a ski room. But the best thing about this floor is the fabulous spa area - what better way to relax after an active day in the mountains than in the sauna and steam room? If you're still looking for a bit of a workout, there's even a small pool where you can swim against a current!
The stunning fully-equipped kitchen, which is on the first floor, has a dining area for quick meals as well as access to the terrace.
However, the main living area - a huge space with two seating areas, both with large screen TVs, separated by a more formal dining area - is on the second floor. From here the full-width window looks on to the valley and Roc d'Enfer, and gives you access to the balcony, where you can enjoy an apero and watch the sun set. There's also a billiard room here!
There is yet another living area on the mezzanine floor - a cosy seating area with a large fireplace and two sofas - so there is plenty of space to either get together or do your own thing.
From your holiday base at Chalet Soprano, you can easily explore the 12 ski stations of the Portes du Soleil.
With 650km of pistes, almost 200 lifts and endless cross-country skiing, you'll never be bored of this winter sports paradise. The resorts cross the border, so why not ski into Switzerland for lunch? But be careful which route you choose - the Swiss Wall is a piste which challenges even the most experienced skiers.
If you're not a skier, or if you fancy a change from the slopes, Morzine also offers indoor and outdoor ice skating rinks, which regularly play host to ice hockey matches. The more adventurous might like to try snowmobiling, ice-diving, or tandem paragliding. If you'd rather discover the area in a more sedate manner, try a sleigh ride.
Other ways to have fun include snowshoeing and sledging, while the Indiana adventure park in Morzine offers a variety of activities for all ages.
When the snow melts, the slopes around Morzine and Montriond become a haven for walkers, mountain bikers and thrill-seekers.
Just a short drive from Chalet Soprano, the lifts will transport you and your bike up the mountains, leaving you to come back down at your leisure.
Morzine has earned the Famille Plus status for its excellent childcare and entertainment - a perfect choice for young families. There are superb water parks in Morzine and Avoriaz, plus two summer sledging runs. The Indiana adventure park has a range of assault courses to suit all ages.
Other activities include climbing, rafting, via ferrata, canyoning, mini-golf, quad bikes, fishing, kayaking and hiking. Don't forget to visit the nearby Lake Montriond, for lakeside walks and the beautiful Brochaux waterfalls.
