Gerlos is a slightly remote alpine hamlet on the border between the provinces of Salzburg and the Tyrol. The winter interest is primarily based on the altitude both of the resort village and the ski slopes in general relatively unusual for Austria with its mostly lower ski resorts. A second major reason is the scope of the ski area, which stretches from Zell am Ziller all the way to Hochkrimml on the other side of the Gerlos Pass. The ski area is more extensive and snow-sure than many of the more favoured competitors. The scenery is stunning and skiing from one side of the area to the other and back again will take the normal skier most of a day.

The spruce sprites are expanding their habitat and spreading to the new Rosenalm reservoir - that will become Spruce Lake! Next to the very popular Spruce Tree Castle, a new attraction will appear in summer 2019 that will excite more than just the kids! With floating jetties, boat rental, pleasure spots, a ‘Pixie Cove’ (shallow area) for the little ones, a dam path, a floating island and much more, the new bathing lake on the Rosenalm has all the water fun you could desire!
A basic offering will be in place in summer 2019, before it really comes into its own in summer 2020. The Spruce Lake on the Rosenalm is the ideal place to improve the wood-lake-balance!
