We have just had word from Avoriaz that they would like to invite everyone to come along and help with their annual mountain clean up!

The date: June 15th 2017

Time: 09.30 – though ourselves and Trust and Dust will be there for any late comers so don’t worry if you can’t quite make it for 9.30am

Trust and Dust will be on hand with bin bags and gloves and ChaletFinder will bring along some drinks and snacks but don’t forget your sun screen and a drink just in case the sun is beating down!

Last year we were in the local town of Morzine and had the chance to take part! We were all really surprised at the amount of rubbish left on the mountain, specifically under chair lifts, from mobile phones to beer bottles and all those little bits of plastic that fall off your kit as you are whizzing down the slopes.

Unsurprisingly, the biggest problem are the cigarette butts which are generally thrown off the lift without a second thought.  Not only do these nasty things stay on the planet forever but they break down into super small toxin (tar) soaked pieces and seep those toxins into the environment…

So, let’s get together, bring your dogs** and hiking boots, and we will give the mountain a good clean!

*Avoriaz would like to reward all those people that get involved by offering a lunch time buffet after all your hard work down at the Ardent Gondola station.  You are welcome to just join the clean up but if you would like a lovely lunch afterwards then please let Bernadette know by emailing her on btavernier@serma-avoriaz.com

**The lifts will be open to mountain bikers tomorrow so please make sure your doggies are on a lead!!

UPDATE!!! – Morzine is also encouraging a town clean up on June 10th to get ready for the summer influx of visitors! From 08.30 until mid day you can get involved by meeting at the Salle de la Poste opposite the Town hall. They are asking you to register for this one so read about how to get involved here!
