Beaver Creek is an unashamedly luxury ski destination near the town of Avon, Colorado and it takes its slogan “not exactly roughing it” very seriously. It is often referred to as Vail’s sister resort. At Beaver Creek it’s all about the little things so you can expect to be treated like royalty with extras thrown in like boot warming, ski valets and even warm cookies handed out by the lifts.  There are less crowds here, so the snow lasts a bit longer and there is a greater focus on skiing.

Beaver Creek has an average of 323” of snowfall per year, 776 groomed acres of trails and has a great variety of ski and snowboard terrain from fantastic beginner runs to daunting expert runs, all serviced by fast chairlifts across the mountain. The village centre is quite compact and is traffic free.

Many of Beaver Creeks table service mountainside restaurants are for members only or require advance booking, however, there is a good range of restaurants in the village.  There are a few cheap and cheerful dining options from a pizzeria to a take - away but most restaurants are moderately priced to upscale.  Most of the fine dining restaurants have a kids’ menu so you don’t have to forego a luxury dining experience or leave the kids at home.  No matter if you fancy seafood, steak or a nice Italian dish, you will find something to tickle your taste buds in Beaver Creek.

Drinks/Bars info

Beaver Creek isn’t a lively resort in the evening as it is a family-friendly resort, where most families tend to go to bed early or go for a quiet drink at one of the restaurant bars or hotels.  For those looking for a more vibrant night out, head across to Vail.  There are a few bars and saloons in Beaver Creek that offer happy hours and a good range of tequilas and microbrews as well as inexpensive après appetizers and drinks until late and there is even an Irish pub.
