Located only 350 meters away from the newest slope in Oz. This track connects directly to the ski lift Alpette which takes you to the Alpe d’Huez ski resort quickly and comfortably.

The Lay out of Gelinotte
The first thing you notice when you enter the chalet is the spaciousness and huge balcony with its stunning view over the surrounding mountains. The living room and open kitchen are the main area for relaxing and to enjoy the delicious meals the catering staff will provide for you. Close by there’s a comfortable sitting area around the fireplace. Lastly, there is a TV corner with flat screen TV.

Chalet Gelinotte has 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. Twin bedrooms and bathroom with toilet ensuite. The chalet also has a large room to store all your wet gear and your ski equipment. Finally, on the lowest floor, there’s a sauna and jacuzzi room.

Shared catered chalet:
It is possible to book per room. Our well trained chalet-staff Hiske and Amanda will look well after you. Fine dining, service with a smile and proper info where to go skiing. Laid-back and friendly atmosphere, make new ski friends in our chalet!

Location

Oz-en-Oisans is a quiet mountain village that has grown over the last 15 years. The residences and chalets are mainly built in chalet style, spacious, attractive and mostly with wood and natural materials. The center is traffic free and has a number of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. There is a ballroom and an ice skating rink. There are two ski lifts that connect Oz-en-Oisans to the ski resort of Alpe d’Huez. In Oz en Oisans there are 2 télécabines, Le Poutran and the Alpette. The Alpette gondola is about 100 meters away from our chalets. There is a ski path that leads to it as well.

Alpe d'Huez ski area:
The ski area of Alpe d’Huez is an undiscovered jewel of the French ski resorts. Great variety, beautiful scenery, beautiful trails, directly linked to many beautiful mountain villages such as Villard Reculas, Vaujany, Oz-en-Oisans.

The ski resort of Alpe d’Huez has 245 kilometers of slopes and is perfect for beginners and the experienced skiers. The highest point is the Pic Blanc, 3300 m. There is also a glacier that provides the necessary snow. On the top of the Pic Blanc the track La Sarenne starts with a length of 16 kilometers. This is the longest continuous black descent in the world. The beginning skier can benefit from the easy slopes immediately above Alpe d’Huez. For snowboarders, there is an extensive snowboard park with a boarder cross, big jump, half pipe and a ramp. There are also 40 kilometers cross country runs, which are situated at an altitude of 2200 meters and are open late in the season.

The area is very accessible using various efficient ski lifts. From Oz-en-Oisans it takes only 12 minutes to get to Alpe d’Huez and Vaujany and from there you can go all directions. Many slopes of Alpe d’Huez are facing the south, sun lovers will enjoy this.

Activities

Télécabines
In Oz-en-Oisans there are 2 télécabines, Le Poutran and the Alpette. The Alpette gondola is about 100 meters away from our chalets. There is a ski path that leads to it as well.

Grenoble
Grenoble is pretty close, an hour away. It’s a nice and big city. Great for shopping or discovering French culture. Definitely give this city a visit if you have the time.

Vaujany
Vaujany is another ski station about 6 kilometers from Oz station. It has a big sports center and an indoor pool with a sauna and jacuzzi. Also, you will find all sorts of shops, restaurants and cafés.

Skischool ESF
Ski lessons are given by ESF, the French ski school. These group lessons are based on 6 lessons of 2,5 hours. In the morning or in the afternoon.

Facilities
The center of Oz en Oisans is pedestrianized, so no cars are allowed. There is a supermarket, 5 restaurants, 3 bars and a bakery. The office de Tourisme can give you all sorts of information about everything there is to do in Oz-en-Oisans.
