Family Ski Holidays

Some of you may be thinking that a ski holiday with all the kids could be a bit of a handful. However, we’re here to tell you otherwise! With so many great ski destinations and chalets catering for your needs, going skiing as a family is a great holiday choice.

When it comes to choosing the perfect destination for the family there are many things to consider, including the suitability of the slopes for children. Les Gets for example, it great for beginners and for families. It is a small and family friendly resort, with a range of pistes which suit beginners to advanced skiers. On top of this, it also has a bowling alley perfect for entertaining the kids in the evening.

Another resort which is family friendly is St. Anton am Arlberg which is the biggest connected ski area in Austria! With 350km of marked ski runs all brilliantly prepared for all ability levels, it’s great for families. There are also plenty of other activities to be enjoyed, such as curling, ice skating, horse drawn sleigh rides, a sports centre with indoor and outdoor climbing, and tobogganing! Sounds ideal for keeping the kids occupied and for making your holiday as adventurous as possible. With all resorts having great ski schools, it’s a perfect opportunity for your kids to learn how to ski, or even for you to join an adult’s group and brush up on your technique!

Many chalets are also child friendly and are happy to cater for your needs. Chalet Atelier in Morzine for example has 50% off children’s prices this Christmas time. So that means more spending money for hot chocolates, ice skating and magical Christmas souvenirs! Some chalets also offer child-care, like Chalet Chamois in Les Coches, so if the little ones are too small to ski you can hit the slopes with the reassurance that they’ll be well looked after.

At the end of the day, snuggle down in your chalet and enjoy being together as a family. Watch a film together or play a board game, whatever you choose, there will always be plenty to do together when you go on a ski holiday. Create some great family memories in the magical atmosphere of the snowy mountains!
